Careloop was founded in 2019 with the purpose of solving the biggest problem of the German healthcare system: the shortage of healthcare professionals and nurses. This initial idea came up when we, Alexander and Matti, were both facing the challenge of finding nursing support for our grandparents. We noticed that modern and digitized solutions were needed to prevent the collapse of one of the best healthcare systems in the world: With a forecasted lack of 500.000 nurses in 2030, its capability is in serious danger and the truth is that due to demographic change, leasing companies and the fact that more and more relatives stop providing care, the German health system cannot solve the problem on its own.

Despite the public awareness of the shortage, the German government undertook insufficient measurements such as the Skilled Worker Immigration Act from 2020. Although some improvements have been made, challenges such as bureaucracy and intransparency keep delaying immigration processes. Careloop is facing solving those challenges every day and the contribution to social wellbeing is constantly driving the team to greater performances and outstanding problem-solving skills.

Today, Careloop has brought over 500 nurses from 15 countries to Germany. In addition, over 250 students have been educated for their recognition and German exams in the inhouse Online Careloop Academy to become licensed nurses in Germany. It is a moment to be proud of what our international team has achieved and yet, there are many more success stories to be told. Because at the same time, thousands of positions are still vacant and the system is still in need of urgent help

In all we do, the biggest driver of Careloop’s activities remains the social impact.  Therefore, we are driven by the guiding principle of the United Nations and try to put this into practice: “Make the SDGs a reality!” Through our work, Careloop is contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) from the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development on three different levels. First, its actions lead to the improvement of the quality of care and treatment and ensures access to health care services in Germany (SDG 3). Second, the international nurses and their families gain access to a socially stable system with a higher income to better working conditions (SDG 8). Also,  Careloop candidates receive high quality education at no cost in the Careloop Academy (SDG 4). Last but not least, the families at home profit from the financial support through their family members in Germany which leads to a social and economic increase of living standards in the recruiting countries (SDG 8).

With 2022 coming to an end, we were proud to take the next step on our journey. We want to write more success stories through an increased client base, new sourcing markets and a tech product fulfilling our specific needs. Our vision is to transform international recruiting to a seamless end-to-end experience for all stakeholders.

While our economic success is based on ownership and transparency, out ultimate success remains a different one – the success on a human level. It is based on our empathy and the sense of responsibility in everything we do. Whatever we do, we work with human beings. Making their wishes come true will always bring a smile to our faces.
