“I never felt like I was in a foreign country from the very beginning,” says Asma Hasan. The 25-year-old Palestinian, born in Syria, studied nursing science in Lebanon and worked in a hospital there for almost three years. Since early 2024, Asma has been working at a hospital in Berlin. In just a few months, she has not only integrated well but also obtained her B2 certificate and successfully passed the proficiency exam to become a registered nurse.

In the fall of 2024, we had the opportunity to meet Asma and gain fascinating insights into her career and new life in Germany. In our conversation, she shared her experiences and the challenges that shaped her journey.

How did you first hear about Careloop and what was the process like?

I heard about Careloop through a colleague at my German language school. He told me that he was traveling to Germany through Careloop to work there. Since his documents had already been certified through Careloop, he shared the contact details with me. I then reached out myself, and everything worked out smoothly.

Tell us about the challenges. How did we overcome them together?

The biggest challenge is definitely learning the language. It takes time, effort, and patience to reach the B2 level.

Getting qualifications recognized can also be difficult and complicated, but Careloop supported me throughout the process. I only had to send my documents to Germany, and Careloop took care of the translations and forwarded them to the relevant authorities. Shortly after, I received my deficit notice – without fear or uncertainty.

Another important aspect is that Careloop also helped me with integration. They conducted two training sessions with me, which helped me understand life in Germany better.

What is your life in Germany like now?

I am very satisfied and happy with my new life and everything I have achieved. I made it with the help of Careloop.

What tips would you give to other international nurses who want to come to Germany?

I recommend that nurses who want to come to Germany reach the B2 level as soon as possible. The language is the most important thing.
