A Letter from the Founders

Careloop | Klett was founded in 2019 with the goal of tackling the biggest challenge facing the German healthcare system: the shortage of medical professionals and nursing staff. The original idea came when we, Alexander and Matti, both struggled to find adequate care for our grandparents. We realized that modern, digital solutions were urgently needed to prevent the collapse of what is still considered one of the best healthcare systems in the world. With a predicted shortage of 500,000 nurses by 2030, its performance is seriously at risk. The truth is, Germany’s healthcare system cannot solve this problem alone, due to demographic change, the rise of temporary staffing agencies, and an increasing number of people in need of care.

Despite public awareness of the shortage, the German government has taken only limited action, such as the Skilled Immigration Act introduced in 2020. While some improvements have been made, challenges like bureaucracy and a lack of transparency continue to slow down immigration processes.

Careloop | Klett faces this challenge every day. With our digital platform and the KLETT Talent Academy, we offer a holistic solution covering the entire process from recruitment to professional and language qualification, all the way to the long-term integration of international nurses. While many providers focus on just one step, we create a fully supported journey for everyone involved – efficient, transparent, and human-centered.

To date, we have successfully integrated several hundred nurses from over 30 countries – including Vietnam, Tunisia, Brazil, and Turkey – into the German healthcare system. This success has not gone unnoticed: at the end of 2024, the renowned Klett Group acquired a majority stake in Careloop | Klett. This partnership marks a crucial milestone for our mission, as it combines the best of two worlds: Careloop’s expertise in digital recruitment and integration with Klett’s in-depth knowledge of education and language training. The Klett Group not only brings decades of experience in “German as a foreign language,” but also a strong international network and proven educational standards. Together, we are expanding our digital learning offerings, improving preparation for professional recognition, and developing innovative learning concepts for the nursing sector. This significantly enhances the linguistic and professional qualifications of nurses – a key factor for successful recognition and integration in Germany. Nurses benefit not only from better career opportunities but also from sustainable support as they adapt to everyday life and work in Germany.

At the heart of everything we do is our social impact, which remains the driving force behind Careloop | Klett. Our work aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda. We promote good health and well-being (SDG 3) by helping to improve the quality of care and treatment in Germany. Through the KLETT Talent Academy, we provide international nurses with free access to practical learning resources, thus contributing to quality education (SDG 4). Additionally, by creating fair working conditions, social security, and better earning opportunities, we support decent work and economic growth (SDG 8).

While our business success is built on responsibility and transparency, our true success is something else – the human impact. It stems from our empathy and sense of responsibility in everything we do. Because in the end, it’s always about people and about creating solutions together that truly make a difference.
